Dr. Barthe Bloom
Personal profile
My main topic of research is grammatical change in Germanic languages, which I approach from a usage-based, constructional perspective. I am passionate about combining qualitative linguistic analysis with statistical methods to shed light on linguistic phenomena in context. Of particular interest to me is the question of how grammatical constructions are connected to each other, how this can be operationalized and statistically evaluated, and the kinds of effects these connections have on the larger language system in the short and long term.
